legendary/infamous Bronte SLSC sweep Bob "Zipper" Conlon passed away on Friday 1st June after a long illness. No funeral details are yet available but will be notified as soon as we have them

Zippa swept at Bronte for over 40 years, he has too many achievements to list, but in recent years swept the Bronte a crew to the open Boat gold medal at the NSW State Titles as well as appearing in numerous Aussie finals. He won an Aussie bronze in reserves at Aussies in the mountains seas in 1996 at Kurrawa. Zippa also swept the Bronte A crew through the monster surf at the NSW State final at Thirroul in 1992. A Bronte life member with surfboats in his blood.
