The 24 Hour Row is fast approaching (30 - 31 October)! If you haven't registered, now might be a good time to jump on https://24hourrow.com.au/ and get involved! PLANNING STEPS: Gauge interest within your club. Have you got enough participant's to cover the 24 hour period on a minimum of 2 erg rowing machines? Register your club and start recruiting rowers - the hub allows you to make your page personal. Explain why you are committed to Gotcha4Life and fundraising for mental fitness. Add blog posts and images through out the campaign. Assign a club member to be the overall coordinator for the event- managing sign up rosters(signup.com), volunteers and venue set up(we can help you with ideas) (including COVID SAFE PLAN). Assign a club member to arrange training sessions. Create a positive culture and encourage mate ship and meaningful conversation. Promote your fundraising page. Encourage participants and their families to share the donation page link. Share the event information with the wider community. Liaise with the local MP/council/newspaper/TV where possible to promote the event. Ask local businesses to support with catering/drinks/energy bars. Check all equipment is maintained and ready to go! Assign a club member to take photos and video's on the day. ON THE DAY:The machines will continuously row for the 24 hour period, concluding at midday on the 15th August. Each club will have 2 erg's continuously rowing. We encourage every participant to challenge themselves to a one-hour block. It will also become club vs. club and state vs. state. Each surf club/club registered will join the Facebook live stream via a Zoom link so we can all follow the progress throughout the 24 hour period and cheer on the rowers. The live stream will be broadcast from our 24 Hour Row Facebook page. |
